charlie chaplin was a genius. i have been watching many of his short silent films which he wrote, directed, scored, and starred in. this little man (5'4.5") gave more beauty and laughter than any other artist in the history of my knowing. here is a split screen image. surely, he was the first to do it.
in this film he plays a soldier. while all his tent mates receive packages of food parcels, he sulks in a corner refusing their offers to share. at last, one day he gets a package of cheese that smells so bad he throws it over a fence and it lands on the face of an enemy soldier.
