the man who wore tennessee so well

when brando performed 'a streetcar named desire' on the ny stage, the producer took the playwright, tennessee williams, aside to complain that the actor was not sticking to the lines. tennessee told the producer not to worry, that brando was communicating in other ways. one of those ways was how he 'wore' the character 'stanley.'
marlon brando's portrayal of the uncouth kowalski could very well have been the beginning of the t-shirt becoming a garment that has attained iconic status.
t-shirts are everywhere, but the trick has always been finding the perfect neckline. with the need to implement eco consciousness into our lives, the plot has thickened.
