you mean they really eat those awful looking creatures?

poor larry. as 'reverand lawrence t shannon', richard burton has to put up with very unsophisticated minds. as a man of the cloth he must surely have had moments of great exaltation. alas, after one too many infractions, he has been given a leave of absence. while working as a tour guide to a 'bus full of hens' his sanity begins taking a leave of absence as well. director john huston's NIGHT OF THE IGUANA has far better ingredients than a meal based around a giant lizard that tastes like a chicken.
richard burton does his best to hold on to the clergyman's collar he has stashed away in his suitcase. however, among his party of middle aged 'hens' is one young chick who larry claims, 'won't leave me alone.' sue lyon, of 'lolita' fame, plays the precocious girl who, aside from not understanding the meaning of the word no, is traveling with a chaperon who is out to get larry fired.
the beauty of the mexican coastline is the background for another one of tennessee williams' brilliant plays. ava gardner is fun and fiery but deborah kerr kinda gets the better role. among all the drama, the mentality of tennessee uplifts you to a very good place.
