in 1966 mike nichols introduced his talent as a film director to the world with a little explosion entitled, 'whos afraid of virginia woolf.' that film single handedly revised the film rating system that still exists today. a few years later he revisited the subject of domestic discord and out came 'carnal knowledge', a story of people looking for love.
jack nicolson plays 'jonathan', an immature college graduate. he meets ann-margret's, 'bobbie', a slightly older woman who wants to be taken seriously. they move in together. he tells her to quit her job. she gets bored. he gets mad. trust me when i say that the scene where she tells him she wants to get married is worth the price of admission.
