'the kiss' was the last silent film for both mgm and garbo. even though the lover in the film is played by conrad nagel, who held garbo in his arms in 'the mysterious lady', the 'shameful' kiss which brings about ruin was a sweet farewell gesture garbo bestowed on a schoolboy.

this may not be the best silent movie but there is much beauty to be seen and tenderness to be felt.
