the name george abbott did not ring a bell for me. it was a joy to learn that he not only wrote 'damn yankees!' (1958) but gave the delightful actress butterfly mcqueen her start. butterfly is one the most highly unforgettable individuals to hit the big screen.
perhaps 'gone with the wind' echoes loudest with the words, 'frankly my dear....' but 'prissy' left one heck of a legacy too:
'Lawzy, we got to have a doctor. I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies.'
