cinema italian style
my head is spinning from the ridiculously delightful 1964 comedy of manners (honor) 'seduced and abandoned.' the cinematography was beautiful, the acting outrageously natural (considering the characters and circumstances) and in the center of all the drama was stefania sandrelli, one of italy's leading actresses. with 122 screen credits, she has been starring in films from the age of 15 when she made 'divorce italian style' with the beloved mastroianni.
'seduced and abandoned' is brimming over with subtext but in the end it is really a very simple tale of two people who are in love. despite the fact that the story will cause you to see as many stars as all the actors who receive a bang on the ear, this is a film i would happily recommend.
