look a eddie! long before his terrific role 'double indemnity' secured his place in the heats of film noir fans, he must have done some theatre work as this amazing photo is not from a film. i once read that marilyn monroe wished to be in the movie of 'the brothers karamazov.' in 1958 it was filmed. claire bloom played the role that marilyn may have wished for. edward made two films before doing this play and over 100 after. when i was a child there was no actor who frightened me as much as this man. i came to love him.
