for all i know, greta garbo may have been something of a saint. she certainly appeared to be! she was nominated for an oscar for her portrayal of 'marguerite' in the sublimely executed 'camille' but lost to luise rainer. who? you may ask. luise left hollywood fairly young but before heading for the ny stage she won two academy awards in a row! perhaps, at the wonderful age of 99, she is still smiling while dusting them up on her mantelpiece.
