even though william powell made 14 films with the divine brunette myrna loy, when it came to off screen love his preference was for the fair haired cinema beauties, carole lombard and jean harlow. he and carole had a short marriage and jean was his sweetheart till her sudden death at the age of 26. they are all amazingly special onscreen.

gotta love mr. powell, a smooth operator. lived very long-died at age 91!!!!!! perhaps his dips into the 'fountains' of youth really worked? but the cost of living longer than his beauties....c.l. and j.h. must have been a constant painful memory to endure. bless his heart...
