devotion and it's price

i fell in love with this movie. look at these two. did you ever see bogie look so good? ida lupino is truly marvelous as his eternal ally in 1941's 'high sierra.' bogart's 'roy', as a man newly out of prison, is roped right back into a life outside the law. on the way he meets up with lupino's 'marie' and against all her pleading he does what he does. along for the ride is the darling little dog 'pard.' any film that showcases a hound is right up my alley. ida lupino went on to star in many films as well as direct. she is amazing and so pretty as bogart's love in this noir where the femme fatale is quite the opposite. a heartbreaker.
