nouvelle vague




the youthful exuberance of french filmmakers who fell under the heading of 'new wave' found a beautiful mascot to wave their flag. in 1962 francois truffaut directed 'jules and jim.' in the center of the eternal triangle is actress jeanne moreau, whose character 'catherine' is seemingly as liberated as the new age of french cinema craved to be.
with a fella on each arm she navigates them through a deceptively ideal time together. however, the eternal three leave you with the eternal question: why must all things end in sorrow?
