the record label can wait

one of my early adventures in the music business was 'showcasing' for a record label. as lead singer, many eyes would be one me. i was very nervous about this. the afternoon of the showcase i went to see a movie to take my mind off of it. that film was' heaven can wait.'
if anything can fully distract you it is watching warren beatty (looking kinda like jim morrison) stumbling his way into the heart and beautiful curls of julie christie. i adore both these actors and in this warren is very funny.
1978's 'heaven can wait' is a delightful remake that once starred robert montgomery, charm personified. the story of a soul's journey from one body to another is an important subject and this film replaces fears with curiosity. while julie's character is wondering just how crazy a man can be, the man is trying to hide just how crazy the situation is.
the entire cast is tops but the great surprise for me was dyan canon who is hysterical in both meanings of the word.
this is my favorite happy film. i forgot all my 'showcase' fears till later that day. come evening, when my partner in the band called to let me know everyone was waiting, i was too nervous to go. a week later we played for the american label. shortly after we signed with a great indie out of the uk.
