i know filmmakers would prefer we see their movies in a theatre, but that is more often not the case. oddly enough, all of the pedro almodovar films i have seen have been on the big screen, and i love them.this spanish director comes closer to the tenderness of tennessee williams than any writer i can name. the lead character in 'hable con ella' (translated 'talk to her') is a very sensitive individual. you follow him, you try to understand him, and the actor javier camara gives a heartwarming performance. the subject matter is controversial, his choices are unusual, but i only ever felt tenderness for him.
almodovar's trademark colors will please the eye but most importantly, there is the subject of morality, beautifully explored in this tale of a male nurse and two disparate women patients.
