flipping out

it must be really fun for a writer/director to cast the lead in their first feature film. for 'somersault' cate shortland  chose actress abbie cornish (super name).  young abbie is wonderful and as pretty as it gets.
if there has ever been a 'happy' teenager, well, i have yet to know about it. the nature of teen life is chaotic. for me, it didn't help where i was cause i wasn't comfortable anywhere. but still, one tries to be.
abbie plays one of those teens, trying her best to make life work out while up against the fact of her age. how many times does a teenager have to be yelled at for not doing anything wrong?
this film is lovely on the eyes. the story rings sad but true.

Definitely a "sad but true" film. Have you seen her in "Candy" yet? That was the first film I saw her in. Afterward I added all her other available films to my Netflix queue. Abbie is mesmerizing.

wow! just watched by chance on cable while surfing...hard to believe that this film came out in 2006, preceding the tragic loss of heath ledger. this actress is one to follow. again, add to movie list :)
