michael moriarty: big screen to small screen

if i had seen 'report to the commissioner' in a theatre i might have left. nyc crime scenes with bullets flying is not my cup of tea. this film was my introduction to michael moriarty. other than 'bang the drum slowly' (moriarty is pictured here with the irresistibly young robert deniro),  i have not seen much else, but it matters not as his performance as a reluctant undercover man gives him my complete admiration. he is so tall yet he arouses a sympathy one feels for a small child. everyone, including richard gere's few minutes of screen time,  is so good in this.

How nice to see a picture of M. Moriarty smiling. The persona of Mr. Moriarty I have in my memory from film is the evil holocaust german nazi officer.
A brilliant actor indeed.
