at last

this was the most expensive movie of it's time by which i mean it cost about 50 cents more to see than all the others. i went with a group of friends. i don't recall what we said afterwards but i have been talking about it ever since.
no other film is as beautiful to my eyes as LAST TANGO IN PARIS. the fact that it takes place in my favorite spot on earth is not the only reason, although filmmaker bertolucci seems to love paris too. the light. the famous for painters light. maybe that inspired him to include francis bacon's art in the opening credits.
marlon was 45 at the time. fit and compelling as never before. maria schneider was 20. you do not want to get me started on how much i love to watch marlon and maria blow my mind with their mutual animal magnetism.
i want to swallow the film whole and become it.
