and the winner is...
this is what you might call a successful head shot. who wouldn't wish to cast this adorable actress in a film? janet gaynor was the first woman to ever recieve an academy award!
'One of the most popular actresses of the silent film era, in 1928 Gaynor became the first winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performances in three films: Seventh Heaven (1927), Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) and Street Angel (1928).'
she retired from the screen in 1939, around the time of her marriage to Hollywood's most renowned costume designer, Gilbert Adrian, and much of her later years were spent on a Brazilian ranch.
chances are she never left the house looking less than impeccable, even if just to feed the horses.
