although 'last tango in paris' is in glorious color, these black and white images are revelatory. i grasp more with each viewing. my most recent discovery is how much the dynamic changes when 'paul' hears 'jeanne' say that she loves him. why must love ring the death knell? that's a question that's been asked since 1 plus 1 did not equal 2.
