warren beatty won a big shiny oscar for directing 'reds.' he also acted his socks off as 'man of the people' john reed. diane keaton played his feisty lover who was often defeated by her need to understand what role she played in his very busy life.
the film is gorgeous to look at, full of insight into the price of idealism, and positively uplifting in how warren captures the passion of a man who wants to make the world better place.
sometimes i wonder just what it is about warren. then i realize that he simply has it all.
