when 'daisy' is being groomed by the film studios in the forever great film 'inside daisy clover', they mold her into a picture of wholesomeness. telling the world that her real mother (majestically played by tiny ruth gordon) is dead, 'daisy' tells the world that her favorite stars are fred astaire and myrna loy. she uncomfortably says, 'i wish they were my parents.'

well, if one had to choose a fantasy mom from the world of film, one really could reach no higher than myrna loy. the woman was hands down sublime. you just know she'd lean over to kiss you to sleep before waltzing out the door dripping in silks and sapphires. level headed never was so alluring.
