hello gene pitney
gosh, i loved the film 'blue sky' (1994). jessica lange won an oscar in that quiet little brilliant indie film. for better or worse my husband thought the leads reminded him of us. that gave me pause! there was a gene pitney song in the soundtrack.
gene had lots of his music in film and television. it began in 1961 when his song was included in the film, 'town without pity.' what an incredible song and movie. he wrote the early 1960s hits "He's a Rebel" by The Crystals (perfectly covered by punkette danielle faye in the band 'the zippers') and "Hello Mary Lou" by Rick Nelson.
