fear of darkness

one of george harrison's most beautiful songs is 'beware of darkness.' chances are very good that director neil jordan is familiar with it.
beatle notwithstanding, neil plows on into the world of the invisible again and again. in his books and films he heads us right into unknown territory and i am grateful. his sense of poetry infuses even a park bench. it seems he is on board to direct novelist neil gaiman's 'the graveyard book.' animation is one thing but that is not jordan's job. he will be bringing to life the tale of a boy orphaned at 18 months of age who, when his family is brutally murdered, takes refuge in a graveyard. the child grows up learning about life and death from the spirits that share his new field of dreams. i trust jordan to take me by the hand.
