the beautiful fifties. in 1956 director elia kazan and three actors from his 'actors studio' (carroll baker, eli wallach and karl malden) headed into tennessee (williams) territory and gave the world much to drink in. the filmed 'baby doll' was damned, given a 'c' rating (as in condemned) and put, as the english say, 'lots of knickers in a twist.' i love every word and every frame.
