a matter of taste
i admit i have a penchant for british actors. from leslie howard to jeremy irons to cillian murphy, i melt from the sound of their voices. i also have a thing for italian actresses. the adventure must have begun with the sublime performance sophia loren gave in 'two women', one of the first italian films i ever saw. from anna magnani to monica vitti, there is something sort of 'barefoot' about these women. however stylish they are, there is an earthiness too. even the aristocratic silvana mangano seems to have a little dust in her beautifully coiffed hair.
