lady day

after i read the book 'lady sings the blues' i was told it was not really written by billie. what can you do? years before i read the book i saw the film of the same name. i thought it was great. diana ross seemed to have thrown herself into the role heart and soul and when she was on the floor in the bathroom dealing with withdrawal i was truly upset.

billie holliday is one of my favorite singers. it is magical to watch her sing. her timing alone, like chet baker's, is enough to stop real time. no matter which parts of her book were inaccurate i have zero doubt that this glorious musician had very disturbing experiences on her way through the world. best not to forget.

and i quote: 'one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star-nietzsche.
