musician/novelist nick cave hardly missed his calling. the man is in love with words and he has made a long and serious offering over the years. his artistic vision may be spooky but i do believe he seeks for the truth, however shady the lanes. soundtracks aside, nick has dipped his toe in the world of cinema as producer and writer. back in the day when brad pitt was making an indie because that was where the work was, nick appeared with him in 'johnny suede.'

if there was a evolutionary chart similar to the prehistoric timeline of man's progression from primate to the upright homosapien, i could see a evolutionary musical progressional chart staring with leonard cohen, nick cave, iggy pop, david johanson, tom waits, patti smith....
one could even place jacques brel in front of them all.
