i know this actor was cast to play 'darcy' in the most recent 'pride and prejudice.' 'darcy' is one of the most romantic leads of all time. i never watched this version because my cousin, a jane austen scholar, said they pretty much got it all wrong. however, i have seen matthew macfadyen in several wonderful roles. this lovely actor can convey speechless mild amazement better than anyone. his lips part, his eyes remain fixed, and though not a sound emits you know his mind is absolutely reeling in confoundedness. from wastrel spoiled son, to deprived child who matures into a noble fellow, he has captured my curiosity to see all i can. perhaps one day i will give 'darcy' a go.
