not quite the white album

thanks to everybody's dreamboat, johnny depp, the name carol channing has been coming up. after watching a clip of her irresistible performance in an eighties version of 'alice in wonderland', i can see that she must have inspired johnny's upcoming 'mad hatter.' she is divine.
she did not quite work with the beatles themselves, but she did in fact join the bee gee's in the 1978 musical, 'sgt. peppers lonely hearts club band.' this film is probably more fun today than when it was released as it will remind us that there actually was a time when peter frampton's splitting a seam in his satin trousers rocked the world.
