one way or another

this is a great snap of bette davis which reminded me of the line from 'all about eve' when her character, margo channing, agrees with the playwrights suggestion that miss. caswell (played by marilyn monroe) is right for one of the parts in his next play.

margo: Well, if she can act, she might not be bad. She looks like she might burn down a plantation...

here is a classic snippet of dialogue between miss caswell and her mentor, journalist addison dewitt:

Miss Claudia Caswell: Oh, waiter!
Addison DeWitt: That is not a waiter, my dear, that is a butler.
Miss Claudia Caswell: Well, I can't yell "Oh butler!" can I? Maybe somebody's name is Butler.
Addison DeWitt: You have a point. An idiotic one, but a point.
