who is she? reasonable question as her acting career spanned a mere five years. however, her film debut was as the beautiful flower seller in chaplin's exquisite 'city lights.' apparently working together was unpleasant and chaplin even tried to recast the role after much footage was already shot. no matter, the outcome is perfection. virginia's marriage to cary grant lasted as long as charlie probably wished it took to film her scenes.
