the value of laughter
one's personal life is rarely what we'd describe as funny. it is not supposed to be! that is where brilliant humor comes in to play, as a means to compliment a 'good life.' when woody allen is off in a paradise free of paranoia, he will surely be remembered for the joy he gave us onscreen more than for his love life. one of the greatest moments ever occurs in his hugely successful 'annie hall' (which won four oscars: screenplay, picture, lead actor and actress). christopher walken plays annie's brother 'duane' (is that not the most gentile name ever?) and his scenes with woody are priceless. when two actors possess the gift of comedy it just pushes them both, much to our advantage.
