i wish i could recall seeing the film 'gilda' for the first time. i do remember thinking rita hayworth just sizzled. as a noir film, 'gilda' has all the right ingredients: great black and white, shifty rich guy, wise flunky and the girl he used to love but now gets paid to keep an eye on. plus, it all takes place in buenos aires. beneath the fevered charm she can't help but exude, rita was also incredibly pretty with a real sweetness in her face. here, the fever in her blood takes over and made this 1946 film a classic.
