out of control

violence in movies is not for me. however, there are a few exceptions based on artistry and storytelling that have allowed certain films to find a home in my heart.
in 1979, the australian filmmaker george miller put a film on the map that achieved major recognition. his 'mad max' led to sequels as well as introducing the world to mel gibson.
the dystopian (love that word) future this film presents is all too easy to believe, which is simply scary if not taken as a lesson as well. this timeless beginning of the saga is a true original. small budget, big minds..... always an inspiring combination.

love the original mad max film...saw this movie as a teen and experience the meaning of apocalypse and armageddon better than my sunday school teachers discussing the book of revelations.

gotta love his companion, the australian cattle dog.
