let her explain

in the fifties britain had the bad blonde down pat. pretty, pouty and predatory. her name was diana dors and she made many films. diana was a very good actress who was repeatedly given 'low' parts to play. i suppose her looks could not be denied when casting the sort of gal she played so often.
in 'tread softly stranger' she is downright unworthy of the man who will do anything to please her. when his big brother (george baker) comes to town he does his best to prove it but alas, he falls under her charms as well. i had never heard of this actor before. it was tempting to pretend he was ray davies, from 'the kink's' as they look alike.
well, even though the triangle is nothing new, this 'b' style film from the u.k. is really super.

perhaps a freaky homage from ray davies "good day" by the kinks in remembrance of ms. dors.
