dial h for ...

even if you knew the entire plot in advance, it would not spoil one frame of hitchcock's most fun/frightening films. i have seen this plenty and every time the 'scissor' moment comes up i still close my eyes.
how can someone so seemingly likable as ray milland play such a sinister character? how do the lace shoulders of grace kelly's dresse stay up? how come i always forget how good bob cummings is?
released in 1954, 'dial m for murder' is made up of colors that sort of don't exist anymore. all the drama takes place inside a very beautiful apartment. you just know grace kelly's character was responsible cause every move she makes is just perfect, especially her reaction when she finds out just how 'sick' her husband really is.

i know what you mean...i don't think crayola has a name for these colors.
perhaps the 50's era of huge lamp shades and large door frames deflected the hue and created blunt shades of primary colors.
beautiful grace absorbs the red and makes it rust on film.
