i love how her husband, director john cassavetes, said that gena didn't have any urgent need to be in movies. she enjoyed shopping! i repeat, goddess!

at long last i have come to appreciate glenn ford. i watched 'the big heat' the other night, a movie i must have seen on t.v. a ton of years ago. i am a big fan a gloria grahame who co-stars in the noir classic with ford.

it isn't what i would call a great film but it has some terrific moments. that creep who throws a pot of boiling coffee in gloria's face had me hating his guts. plus, marlon's sister joyce has a good role in it as glenn's perfect spouse.

when i watch the film 'carrie', a very sad film that has a super performance by olivier, i am always struck by the beauty of jennifer jones. i know elizabeth taylor got all the applause for 'beauty' but if not for the slight age difference she would have had a serious rival.

jennifer jones had some serious marriages! her first husband was the impossibly great actor robert walker, winner of the 'psycho tuna' award for his performance as 'bruno' in hitchcock's 'strangers on a train.'

the trivia on gary cooper is a real page turner. he was friends with hemingway, picasso, and james stewart. his wife was named rocky! let's hope she was indeed a tough cookie when it came to his public love affair with actress patricia neal.

gary starred in 82 of the 107 films he made. he made 16 silent movies and i am sure he was gorgeous in every single one of them.
